HeishaMon - IoT out of the proprietary cloud
Do you have a device installed at home that, whilst it has built-in communication capabilities, just transmits data to the manufacturer’s cloud, where you then connect via your mobile device or computer?
But you like to access the data locally, for example, to automate it with another device of your home? A typical example is linking a photovoltaic system with a heat pump to manage electricity consumption efficiently.
IoT for a heat pump – non-cloud-based , HeishaMon for Panasonic
HeishaMon = an interface for local network communication with Panasonic Aquarea series heat pumps via MQTT.
Integration in Home Assistant is usually available for PV systems on GitHub, which can be used to set up automations – an example for Solax.
Import data from HeishaMon into the Home Assistant environment via MQTT protocol and then integrate it as required and automate.
Cooling on hot days? No problem. A few handy tips, integration with Home Assistant, and the Heishamon interface will sort it out! Drop me a line...
How do I do it?
The original interface, in case of Panasonic heat pump the CZ-TAW1 (pictured on the left), can be replaced or even operated in parallel with the HeishaMon board (on the right). This provides the user, not just the service man, with complete data set from the heat pump via the local home network! Furthermore, the cost of the HeishaMon interface is much lower than that of the original Panasonic interface.
The HeishaMon interface connects to the Panasonic Aquarea air-to-water heat pump H generation or younger in the same way as the original interface, and if the user wishes to have both, it supports a proxy function. Everything is described in detail on the page below. Once physically connected, data is transmitted via MQTT to Home Assistant, where automations can be set up.
