Shelly and SimplyDim example
Something for the DIYer.
The Shelly platform fits the bill in features and price.
And a somewhat strange example...
General platform for home use and special applications
Shelly platform devices. Connected to home WiFi infrastructure, controllable via free cloud
SimplyDim technology means the light dims in a cycle after repeatedly pressing the switch within 3s.
Example of lights with SimplyDim technology. It's a nice feature, just incompatible with sensor switching and can't be turned off in the LED driver.
How do you do that?
Shelly devices are so interesting in price, connectable via WiFi and controllable from the cloud for free, that you can create applications with them, where you can just deactivate some unpleasant function or add timing or interconnection between appliances, and generally add functions that the controlled device or devices themselves cannot do.
In this particular case, the cheapest type of Shelly is used without power metering, but with scripting support where the SimplyDim deactivation function can be programmed. This is a very nice feature, but the collision occurs if you want to control a light with this feature with a motion sensor. In addition, sensors exist with different outputs, so customization is needed - we will supply everything if you want to try it out.
